Dollywood Evacuated Amidst Torrential Rain and Flash Floods

Severe Weather Wreaks Havoc at Dolly Parton's Theme Park

Park Guests Flee as Floodwaters Surge

Dollywood, the iconic theme park owned by country music legend Dolly Parton, was evacuated on Sunday, July 29, 2024, as heavy rains and thunderstorms caused flash flooding in the Sevier County, Tennessee area. The park's entrance road collapsed due to the unrelenting downpour, rendering it impassable.

Videos circulating on social media show swift-moving floodwaters surging through the park, engulfing walkways and threatening structures. Park-goers were forced to flee to higher ground as the flooding intensified, leaving behind abandoned rides and concessions.

Pigeon Forge Police reported that one person sustained injuries during the evacuation. Emergency responders were on scene to assist with evacuations and address the safety of all guests and staff.
