Team USA aims for seventh gold medal in FIBA World Cup
USA Basketball has unveiled the 2023 roster for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, with five-time NBA All-Star Jayson Tatum serving as captain. The United States has medaled in 19 Olympics, winning 16 gold medals since the inaugural tournament in 1936.
The 12-man roster includes a mix of NBA veterans and rising stars, with Tatum (Boston Celtics) leading the way. Other notable players include Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), James Harden (Philadelphia 76ers), and Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers).
Head coach Gregg Popovich will guide Team USA in their quest for a seventh gold medal at the World Cup. The tournament will be held in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia from August 25 to September 10.
