'The Smashing Machine' First Look: Dwayne Johnson Transforms Into MMA Legend Mark Kerr

Dwayne Johnson is virtually unrecognizable in the first look at his upcoming A24 drama The Smashing Machine.

Johnson stars as Mark Kerr, a two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion known as "The Smashing Machine."

The film is adapted from the 2002 documentary of the same name, which chronicled Kerr's rise and fall in the world of mixed martial arts.

The first look photo shows Johnson in full costume as Kerr, complete with a shaved head and bulging muscles.

The film is directed by Benny Safdie, one half of the Safdie brothers who previously directed the acclaimed films Good Time and Uncut Gems. No release date has been announced for The Smashing Machine.
