Celtics Summer League Roster Announced
High-Flyers, Skilled Scorers, and Agile Playmakers Highlight Celtics Summer League Roster
Four Players to Watch: Romeo Langford, Aaron Nesmith, Payton Pritchard, and Carsen Edwards
The Boston Celtics have announced their roster for the upcoming NBA Summer League, which will be held in Las Vegas from August 8-17. The roster is highlighted by the team's lone draft choice this season, Romeo Langford, as well as past selections who have impressed in previous Summer League appearances, including Aaron Nesmith, Payton Pritchard, and Carsen Edwards.
Langford, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, is a 6-foot-6 swingman who averaged 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in his lone season at Indiana. Nesmith, a 6-foot-6 forward, averaged 14.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for Vanderbilt last season. Pritchard, a 6-foot-2 guard, averaged 19.5 points, 7.1 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game for Oregon last season. Edwards, a 6-foot-1 guard, averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Celtics last season.
In addition to these four players, the Celtics' Summer League roster also includes a number of other promising young players, including Tacko Fall, Tremont Waters, and Javonte Green. Fall, a 7-foot-5 center, averaged 11.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game for the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League last season. Waters, a 5-foot-10 point guard, averaged 14.8 points, 5.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Maine Red Claws last season. Green, a 6-foot-6 forward, averaged 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game for the Denver Nuggets last season.
The Celtics will play five games in the NBA Summer League, with their first game scheduled for August 9 against the Indiana Pacers.
